Four easy ways to boost your vending sales

Move your machines to a different spot at a same location:
You should experiment with machine positioning sometimes. Put your machines at places where as many customers as possible will see them when they are in a state of mind to spend money. Positioning of your machine can even turn an ordinary location into an excellent location. The following are ten possible places to put your vending machines within a business.
• Next to the entrance
• Next to the exit
• Next to the water fountain
• In front of the rest room
• In the break room
• By the coffee maker
• Next to the other vending machines
• By the receptionist
• Next to the cash register
• Next to the listening station at a music store
• Next to the change machine
• In the waiting area

Monitor which products are selling poorly and change your product mix accordingly:
It is difficult to know for sure what the best set of selections is to stock in your machines. Different locations have different people using their machines. So in order to maximize product sales you will need to change your product mix by location to match the preferences of the people who use that machine. Give people what they want. Pay close attention to which products are selling and which are not. Replace something which is not selling with other products that might boost your sales. You can also ask customers at a location what would they prefer as a replacement.

Move your underperforming machines to entirely new locations:
What if none of your selections are selling particularly well? Sometimes the problem isn’t the products that are in the machine. If the products are not selling well then the problem might be the location. Just because a location looks like it should be able to support a machine doesn’t mean that it can support a vending machine. Some locations simply do not have enough customers or employees who will use a machine to make it worth your time. If changing the product mix doesn’t boost your sales to satisfactory level then it will be foolish to keep the machines at the same location.

Keep your machines clean. Clean them every time that you service them:
Vending machine customers do not want to buy product from a machine that looks gross or dirty. They are afraid that if the outside of the machine is dirty, the product might be stored in the same condition or the products inside are probably stale whereas, a shiny recently polished machine draws attention to itself. Customers are more likely to use a machine that attracts them.
